Frequently Asked Questions

  • How are the apartments laid out?
    The main level is about 400 square feet and includes the kitchen, full bath and dining/living area. They have vaulted ceilings for an open, spacious look. Upstairs half of the unit or about 200 square feet is the bedroom with a half bath.
  • What is included?
    The apartments are fully furnished with all the basic kitchen appliances. Linens and cookware are also provided.
  • What is the rent?
    Rent for the Forest Ranger Class is $1800 for the length of the class and is due when you arrive. Payments may be made with check or cash. Credit cards may be used for an additional 3%.
  • Is any deposit required?
    Yes, a deposit of $500 is required to secure a space for you. This money will be held until an inspection is made after you check out. Then this money will be returned to you within 30 days if the housing is found in the same condition as when you checked in. Money will be held out of your deposit as necessary for any damages or extra cleaning that is required. Also if you fail to show up, or leave early, the return of your deposit will be waived, unless another student is found to take your place.
  • What do I do to secure a spot for housing?
    Send the deposit money to Condor Investments, Attn: SWCC Housing,
    1281 Georgia Road, Franklin, NC 28734. We will email you back a confirmation.
  • Are utilities included?
    Yes, most are. Each unit has electric, water, and cable TV utilities (heat is electric). Phone service, however, is not included.
  • How far away is the ranger class from The Three Barns?
    The class is located approximately 5 miles west on Highway 64.
  • Is there a grocery store close by?
    Yes, there is a shopping center within walking distance (approx. ¼ mile) that has a large grocery store (Ingles), a Wal-Mart, Laundromat, and other stores. There is another grocery store approx. ½ mile away as well.
  • Do you allow pets or smoking?
    Unfortunately, no.
  • How long in advance do you take reservations?
    Generally, we accept reservations 45 days in advance. Before that, you can email us your contact info and we'll keep it on file. If you find out you need housing the last minute call us and we'll certainly try to assist you if we have anything available.
